SCARED STRAIGHT
“CRIME WATCH DAILY” INVESTIGATES “CONSIDER THE CONSEQUENCES”

Caught on Tape: Terrified Children in a Program Praised for Preventing Juvenile Delinquency. Has it Gone Too Far?

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (May 25, 2016) — In a video gone viral, Judge Verda Colvin was praised everywhere for her tough love attitude on at-risk youth and her support of “Consider the Consequences,” a Bibb County, Georgia program aimed at preventing juvenile delinquency by sending kids behind bars. Now, Crime Watch Daily goes behind the scenes to show you what you didn’t see in court and the results are explosive. Crime Watch Daily sent a camera crew to get a first-hand look at what these kids experienced. Captured on camera are prisoners cursing and berating the children with one young girl repeatedly called a whore by inmates, girls ordered to clean the toilets of inmates without gloves, and children sharing cell blocks with murderers.

Crime Watch Daily sat down with Judge Colvin and Sheriff David Davis to watch this footage for the first time and both Sheriff Davis and Judge Colvin stood by the program with Judge Colvin even saying, “yes” when asked if these kids needed this treatment. “Overall, this is a good program. If there’s any type of adjustments that need to be made, we’ll certainly do it, but it doesn’t negate the good points of it and the impact that it’s making,” adds Sheriff Davis.

When Crime Watch Daily sent the footage to Bibb County, the program was put on hold and an internal investigation was launched. The program has since been altered and re-launched.
