This is one incident that has stayed with me all week. I cannot fathom how a mother, no matter how inexperienced or bad she might be, could even think about putting their children in the oven and turning it on. Can you even imagine the fear that these two toddlers felt. She had to have heard their cries that would turn into screams. I am overwhelmed with grief and sadness for these two boys. They never had a chance to live. To do anything with their lives. They were 1 and 2! I am angry. Angry that this “mother” did this. Why? No, I don’t want to hear this “I can’t do it anymore”. If that was the case, why was murder the first option? And such a horrific murder, at that. No, I do not believe that this was impulsive. I think that she planned this, for some kind of revenge against the boy’s father, for whatever reason. There is absolutely NO reason to do this. Nothing justifies this. I am sure that there was someone who would have helped her out and taken the boys. Plus, she did not harm the other son that was there. These children deserved so much better. I have to admit that I wish for her to feel their pain and fear. And I can’t and won’t say I am sorry, because I am not.
